When proposing a project on a stream or river, there are often multiple permits needed. The following list of permits may be needed.  In an effort to streamline the permitting process, the Joint Application for Proposed Work in Montana's Streams, Wetlands, Floodplains, and Other Water Bodies has been developed (available on our website under 310 Law - 310 Application Forms/Instructions). Montana DNRC provides a "Guide to Required Permits" http://dnrc.mt.gov/permits/streampermitting/guide.asp that gives a short description of each permit and when they may be needed.
